Additional information about the certification process and the more than 3,500 corporate members and public sector entities that support the process can be found in the links below.

National Minority Supplier Development Council Certification Program

Providing a direct link between corporate America and minority-owned businesses is the primary objective of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, one of the country's leading business membership organizations. It was chartered in 1972 to provide increased procurement and business opportunities for minority businesses of all sizes.  The NMSDC Network includes a National Office in New York and 39 regional councils across the country. There are 3,500 corporate members throughout the network, including most of America's largest publicly-owned, privately-owned and foreign-owned companies, as well as universities, hospitals and other buying institutions. The regional councils certify and match more than 15,000 minority owned businesses (Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American) with member corporations which want to purchase goods and services.

New Jersey Commerce and Economic Growth Commission MBE Certification Program

Encourages the startup, growth and expansion of small businesses and women and minority businesses. Assists firms with public procurement opportunities by registering eligible businesses for set-aside contracts and certifying women and minority-owned companies.

Commonwealth of Massachusetts (SOMWBA)

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, State Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance (SOMWBA) Certification is the process by which SOMWBA reviews and investigates applicants who seek to participate in affirmative business opportunities to determine that they meet the requirements of state and federal statutes and regulations. SOMWBA certifies companies for both State and Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification programs.

► Executive Order 390, and Massachusetts General Law Chapter 7, Section 40N establish the state's affirmative purchasing programs for minority and women businesses. For more information on these regulations, please refer to the Rules & Regulations page. SOMWBA certification verifies the eligibility of a business or non profit organization to participate in these business programs.
